Many areas in the Eastern U.S. are experiencing triple digit highs this month, which is higher than normal. In fact, some areas are seeing temperatures that haven’t been seen in 60 years! Because of the humidity, the heat is worse than in places such as Arizona, which experience a dry heat.

The heat has caused a rise in emergency room visits from many suffering heat exhaustion and heat stroke. People forget to compensate when it’s hotter outside. It’s recommended that where possible, you stay inside from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you do go out, be sure to drink lots of water, stay in the shade, or cool off in a pool, lake, river, or ocean.

It’s hard enough to be cooped up all winter because of the snow and chilly temperatures, but to be cooped up all summer as well is worse. Recently it was 90 degrees at 8 a.m. in New York, but what’s really hard on the residents in this area is that the nights are not much cooler. If it doesn’t cool down at night, you start the day off hot and don’t get a chance to recover.

For those who live in these areas, air conditioning is recommended. If you don’t have central air, consider buying a window unit and staying the room where you install it. If needed, go to a public store or restaurant that has air conditioning to cool off. It’s important to prevent becoming overheated, which can cause serious health problems.

The word crime literally means any act that violates the freedom in any form whether socially, physically or mentally. That’s the nut sell for word freedom. United States of America’s 37 the largest state is Kentucky. The geographical location of Kentucky is between central eastern parts of USA. The state of Kentucky was created in year 1972 when it was detached from Virginia. It is one of the states among four states that constitute common well states. There are many internal rivers and lakes that are present.

The state holds a record in rainwater harvesting. Despite all such good things there are several alarming factors also for the state. They come from pollutants it can be air, water or soil pollution. But amongst the three water pollution is been the most talked about thing in the state. These thinks are never ever highlighted put they exist there and they are always prevalent despite the fact the government denies it. What Does The Word Kentucky Mean? Nobody Knows For Sure

What is in a name? Do not trust those who say it is irrelevant. Despite what Shakespeare said, people to take a lot of stress whenever it comes to the meaning of the name of any object or entity that they are passionate about. The citizens of Kentucky have long grappled with the meaning of the name of their state.

The actual meaning is buried in history and there is no consensus as to what it may originally mean. The most common belief is that the word Kentucky refers to a dark and bloody ground. It is often said that this was the native American name given to the state when they were residing in the same. Well, native Americans may not have been as civilized and developed as modern society but it does seem improbable that anybody would name their own homeland with such negative connotations. This is why experts search of other meanings.

There is another view that the world is a mix of Cane and Turkey. Well, the turkey is commonly found in the state but there are not many instances where states have been named after the primary produce and object found.

The fact that Kentucky has just three major natural lakes makes it seem as if scarcity of water would be a perennial problem in the state. However, Kentucky is a state that has used its resources very smartly and has ended up with more navigable miles of water than any other state in the country. Except for the state of Alaska, it has the most number of navigable miles as far as waterways are concerned.

Kentucky has used the 90000 miles of streams smartly and has harnessed it in such a manner that these streams can be used for not just human consumption but also for navigation purposes. The state has one of the biggest and most complex network of streams in the entire country. The waters of the stream are diverted toward artificial lakes. Kentucky has also used the fact that it is bordered on three sides by rivers and not by land to its advantage. The internal rivers are harnessed properly and have been dammed to ensure that water supply is never a problem. This is a very important point because coal mining, uranium processing and electricity generation are important industries in the state of Kentucky. All three industries invariably require access to large volumes of water.

The presence of numerous water bodies in the state has also boosted its tourism potential. This ensures unemployment never becomes a very big problem in the state. Development of the shoreline automatically provides fantastic scope for tourist income. It also improves the overall image and brand of the state in the country.

A Look At Formation Of Kentucky And Its Role In The Civil War

These state of Kentucky was the 15th State to be incorporated into the union in the year 1792. Before this, the state was a part of the state of Virginia. After numerous petitions, constitutional amendments were passed in the state of Virginia and the state of Kentucky was created.

The civil war divided the country into two sides. However, Kentucky was a borderline state and never really decided in favor of a specific side. While it did not to secede from the Union, it did not completely oppose Confederate forces well. This is because the population was equally divided on the issue and there was no consensus. Further, there was no single emotional event, like the attack on Fort Sumter which tilted scales in Tennessee, that affected citizens of Kentucky and encouraged them to take a stance.

This and the fact that Kentucky was the state of birth of Union President Abraham Lincoln and Confederate President Jefferson Davis meant that home support was present but never clear.

The citizens of Kentucky tried to use their middle stance approach to arrive at a compromise between the Unionists and the Confederates. However, the acrimony between the two parties was too large and the state quickly found itself a target of both the Republicans and the Confederates.

There is some confusion on whether Kentucky had officially seceded or not. Representatives of a few counties of the state gathered together and decided to officially secede from the union. They set up an alternate capital and proclaimed their support for the confederates. However, this was not a democratically elected convention and it did not enjoy the support of majority of the citizens of Kentucky. Hence, while officially the state may have declared it support in favor of the confederates, it never was clear which side the masses supported.
